    What were to happen if the female were to incubate her eggs like they do naturally? would they hatch?

    Yes, unless there was something wrong with the environmental conditions.

    People usually don't leave the eggs with the mother only so that they can begin to feed the females back to weight instead of having the females incubate the eggs and not feed.

    Plus, I think the "hatch-success" rate is higher with artificial incubation.

    I've allowed maternal incubation, and the sucess rate was 100%
