    Two BP's in same tank?
I have heard conflicting reports about this question.

    Here is my situation.

I have two 4ft ball pythons, and the rescue we got them from said they were living together for about 6 mo in the same tank. So we were told they were fine together.

My tank for them I built is 3ft by 4ft by 2ft tall.

They seem to stay out of each others way most of the times and dont seem to care that each other are in the tank.

They both have no problems feeding *we feed outside of tank in a rubbermaid tote*

Can someone shed some light on wether or not they can stay together long term?

    Thanks..

the answer you will get the most is no, cohabitation of snakes is a no no. there are many factors to support as to why you shouldn't. If you can put a divider into the tank so that each snake has its own area and cannot come in contact with the other, then, yes they can share the same tank. the reasons for not having two snakes in one tank are:
1-if one snake is sick, it can spread the disease to the other.
2-they will "fight' for the best spots in the tank. one will dominate the other.
3-snakes naturally are not social animals. they live solitary lives only coming together to mate. so housing them together is not benefiting them in any way.

if you do a search on cohabitation, you will find many threads that go into better detail as why this idea is not supported. Hope this helps you. :D

o boy here we go again...most people that have KNOWLEDGE will say no, unless you're breeding.
