Shedding - offer food or not?

Hi all, I am a new BP owner and new here. I will try to make this brief.

Got our BP on 10/20 - he went through his adjustment period for 9 days.

Offered food on 10/29 - he ate!

Offered food again on 11/5 - he would not eat - noticed he was clouding, getting ready to shed (no blue eyes), so not concerned with him not eating as I was told that sometimes they will not eat while in the shed process.

His eyes got blue but he still has not shed. Should I offer food tonight, as it is his "scheduled day"?

Offer it and see what happens. I have some that will eat in shed and some that wont you never know till you try. :D

All of mine except two will eat while in shed. Just offer the food but be prepared to remove it and deal with it accordingly if your snake refuses.

I agree with FreakieFrog. All you have to lose is about $1.50 if you offer. And you'll be learning about him, too.

yea make food available. sometimes its taken sometimes its not. my male on his first shed didnt eat till his shed was 100% done. was on a like 14 day food strike. but since then he doesnt miss a meal even in the blue he will just take his time before striking.

You can! I offer food to all of mine, most eat even during shed

Just about everyone has already said what I would have said.:) Both of my BPs eat during shed, but if they were to refuse that would be no big deal either. I would just offer and if yours doesn't eat then offer again next week.

Just to give a little different perspective, I usually do NOT offer food if they are fully blue. It doesn't hurt a bit to wait a week either. I think it's really a decision that you need to make that is best for you and your snake.

Yea, you should try it. The best rule to follow is:

Always offer food on the scheduled day no matter what. If the little guy doesn't except, than don't sweat it and try again on the next scheduled day.
