    New BP pickup
I just got a new female normal today...she's supposed to be four years old (and judging by her size and feeding schedule and the shape of her face, which doesn't look like a 'baby' face I'm guessing she's at least 2) and is about 3' long, 983g. They had been keeping her in a tank in the garage (and it's beginning to get down into the mid-40's and 50's! >.<) with only a heat rock for heat, but otherwise it was okay...they had two hides, water, and foliage, at least.

She seems to be in good health--no mites, no scars or burns or bite wounds, I can't hear any popping or wheezing sounds when she breathes (but I'm going to keep her temps elevated for a few weeks just in case, I'm worried about a possible RI because of how cold it's been) and she has good muscle tone. A bit underweight. They'd been trying to feed 2 medium rats (DDD8 HUGE ones) in one sitting every 2-3 weeks, and that's what they did since she was a hatchling, and apparently she regularly refuses the extra rat. I'm thinking that both the way they kept her and her feeding schedule stunted her growth. I'm thinking that since she's going to be in a nice, comfortable place with proper temps and humidity and feeding she'll do a lot better. I'm not sure if she'll catch up with my other four year old girl (who is more than twice her size in girth and weight and over a foot and a half longer than her) but I'm sure she'll eventually get to where she needs to be.

She's a pretty girl, though, and VERY friendly!! Not at all head shy, and has lovely thick black patterning and lots of blushing all over, as well as a light head spot and some funky patterns. Not many alien faces but lots of pattern. She's got a lovely light coffee color on her head and blushes the same coffee color. On her lower half, she's a blackback with tons of blushing, and has really dark eyes. She has a few squiggly black side patternings....she's so different from my others; much darker and more patterned. I tend to favor the reduced ones, but I like her, too.

Maybe next year she'll be able to breed to my pastel boy, but I think she'd make MUCH nicer Cinnamon babies, since she kind of already has that coloring and pattern. I think crossing her with a cinny with lots of blushing would make a cinny with big, wide black banding and blushing.

And I got a pretty good deal on her, only $70...originally they wanted $350 including the tank, but I didn't need it. Besides, most of the adult girls I've seen for sale have been anxious and snappy, but she's so calm and relaxed! I'm happy with it, anyways.

Anyways...I've got her set up and in her new home, and I'm gonna let her alone for a week and have her in a separate room from all the others (till February) and then I'll take photos. I was just so excited I had to share!!

Sounds cool. I would of course quarantine her away from your other snakes and keep a lookout for RIs, but I am sure you already planned on that :)
It is good for her that she's in a better home now; good luck on getting her acclimated and breeding later!
