Site Feature Enhancements.

1)PM system has been "enhanced" a little bit. If you look to the right of your screen, you will see that the pm widget has a little drop down menu. You can use this navigation for all your private conversation needs as well as accessing your main folder. Also, the text indicating the no: of new pm-s you've received will blink red when you receive new correspondence.

2)We have a "Tagging" system now. This is a new functionality brought about by the whole web 2.0 phenomena. Basically, tagging behaves like categories and lets users search for threads by key words. When one creates a new thread, one has the option of tagging it with a few relevant terms. Example: "My ball python is not eating" can be tagged with the words "Eating, Fasting, Refusing Food" etc. The user can then search for these words and pull up threads that have similar tags. If you wish to see the "Tag cloud" then simply click on "tag" on the top right of your screen. You can search tags by using the "search" function located in the navigation bar.

The option to enter key words will be provided when you create a new thread or edit it(within a specific time span). I strongly encourage you guys to take advantage of it as it would benefit all. If you have any questions regarding these two new features please post them in this thread. Thanks.:D

So the tag is user-defined? If someone fails to tag their own, can others or admin do it later?

I believe those with post editing capabilities...Mods and Admins, are the only ones who can go back in and add tags.

If you've submitted your thread, you have a few minutes to go back and edit your thread and add tags before you are unable to edit any further.

Neato! I love the PM enhancement. I am ignorant sometimes and do not realize I have a new PM for a day or so.. this should help.

So when making a new thread, we don't have an option to whether or not we want to tag it? I tried to submit a new thread earlier, and it told me I had to put in a tag. I really didn't want to think about tagging it, I just wanted to post. Is this an option and just a fluke I ran into or is it mandatory ?
