    Probe Placement?
For those of you that attach a probe to the Flexwatt, you do attach it without any form of insulation around the probe or just slap that probe onto the bare tape so to speak?

    Thanks in advance :)

i and everyone seems to do direct to tape.

i have mine on th ebottom of a tank so i actually have the probe inside the tank on the glass directly ontop of the tape

if u mount the display to the outside of the container. i personally recomend inside :)

Directly to the tape is recommended. I say this because of the manufacturer's recommendation that the tape not exceed 95 degrees. If you have your probe insulated and set your thermostat to 93, you're already at/exceeding that recommended max.

I got a rack from Rich at RBI and it says the tape shouldn't go above 110.

Also to the OP, I just tape the prob on with duct tape. The tape isn't hot enough to melt it.

In all of my racks, I have the probe taped over the heat tape inside an empty tub. I like being able to look at the thermostat and KNOW what temp it is, rather than have to rely on less-than-accurate digital thermometers. The heat tape itself on the warm side is likely around 105-110, to get the warm side up to 94-95(what I have the thermostat set to).

I tape my probe directly onto the heat tape, and adjust the thermostat so that the inside of the tub over the tape is at 90-92 degrees. I use a temp gun to measure temps inside the tub.
