    Lowest number of copulations
Im would like to know, whats the lowest number of copulations anyone has had. Lowest number of times you have seen them locked together, and still had eggs laid from that pairing.

Good question. I have had 15 plus copulations and no eggs and then I have had 2-3 and got eggs. Very weird. It always seems to be the clutch you want most that does not go for you.

Like Thomas said, I had 8 combined copulations with a female, from two different males, and no eggs. Yet, I did have a female this past season that locked up one time, and we got eggs from her. It all depends if you get the male in there at the right time, as they only need to copulate one time to become gravid. Some females, however, seem to need the interaction with the males before they will start follicular developement.

I agree with Thomas on this, I've gotten eggs where they were only locked up a couple of times during a few days and no eggs where they were locked dozens of times over a period of months. Getting them to breed is easy, getting them to ovulate is a bit harder.

I had one pairing last season that I only saw lock once, after that they showed no interest in each other so I stopped pairing them and still got a clutch of eggs.

I've heard of people getting eggs and witnessing zero lock ups. Seems odd but I know it happens. Last year was my rookie year and it played out as witnessed for me. Those that bred like mad laid and the ones that showed no interest didn't so my help is limited.

Thanks this is what i was looking for. I had a female that i put her with a male only 5 times. I only seen 4 copulations. Most within the first few hours of being put together.

    One lock up. 8 eggs.

It happens. It all depends on the timing.
