Humidity

What is the most effective way to bump up the humidity in my bp's cage? :confused:

eiether putting a heat pad under a rock or using a heat lamp and putting a towel over the cage to keep he heat in. also have WATER IN THE BOWL! to make some moisture in it.

wait so do i put a wet towel over the cage and also the heat lamp.

I've found putting a heat pad under a water bowl helps. Also a couple of wads of wet papertowels works too. Just replace them every couple of days to prevent any mold from starting. hope this helps

i just got some wet towels and put them ontop of the cage mesh and created a little gap so that the heat lamp can still shine through. will this do anything

maybe you can try it if not you can try mine or harfields theory. both of ours work well

Glass tanks are a challenge for keeping humidity up. Wet towels are a bad idea, it just breeds bacteria and mold, and you really don't want that in your tank. Try to lose the heat lamps if you can, as they suck humidity OUT of your enclosure. Stick with heat pads, and a larger water bowl.

Tubs are also a great way to easily maintain heat and humidity. Not as pretty as tanks, but much easier to maintain.

I have a glass tank - keep the top covered and add another small water dish under the heat lamp. It generally raises the humidity well. Also a mist now and then tends to work.

i have a glass tank with a screen top and i put installation and nailed gunned it to the top of the cage. with a heat pad and a large watr bowl and the humidty is VERY GOOD.

thats is for one of my burmese Pythons( she is 11 ft)
