    Vultures!
    I saw what I assumed were crows.. then they looked too big and i thought they were ravens.. nope. Vultures! They were congregating out in the front field around a dead woodchuck.. good eatin's I guess. ;)

    Why weren't they eating the woodchuck? I see vultures in the sky so much that sometimes I think they never find food. Great pics, by the way.

    They look to be turkey vultures like we have around here now :P.They are some of the ugliest creatures i have ever seen :rofl:.

    we get flocks of vultures alot. Where we live there are tons of deer and that's usually what they are cleaning up. They tend to sort of congregate in the area. I think they simply can't eat it all at once but they aren't going anywhere until its all gone.

    Yeah, they tend to pick at the carcasses until there is literally nothing left. I guess that the can even digest bone. Wow!
    They are ugly birds but for some reason I find them fascinating.

    yep those are turkey vultures. we have them here too and they are big. But the eagles around here are bigger. everytime I see one I'm without my camera :(. I'll snap a pic one day. your right though, ugly but fascinating.

    You can tell if it is a turkey vulture in flight by the wings. If its a turkey vulture they will have a V-shape when they glide. Just a interesting fact that you all might enjoy.
