    f/t success!
My BP ate her first meal tonight and took f/t! At least I believe she did. I left it in her tank, and then when I took a peak a little later it was in her mouth (tail first, is that ok?). Now she's hiding in her warm hide.

I bought 50 frozen fuzzy rats so I'm glad they're not going to go to waste. :)

[She's so pretty I think I may name her Lovely or Lovey.]

Tail first is fine. Sometimes they get a bit confused, and sometimes they will swallow that way with smaller prey items.

I didn't take any of Lovely eating since I really didn't want her to stop eating. Here's a link to a few pics I took before she started her 'settling in' period. "I picked up my little girl!"

Congrats Christine. I am glad that she ate F/T that quickly, especially without you have to do the dead rat dance with some tongs.

Thanks Tim. I had planned on feeding live, but no one had live fuzzy rats- I checked with 5 petstores! I thought about doing live mice, but figured that fuzzies don't move around too much, so now would be a good time to try f/t. And voila!

Its amazing what some snakes will do... My red tail is a picky eater and will make you do the dead rat dance for a good amount of time before she tags it... Last night the rat fell outta my tongs and as it was falling she snagged it outta the air... Never cease to amaze me.

Congrats! I have fed f/t once and that was only because the pet store was out of live pinkies and fuzzies. I will never do it again. It was in there for a good ten minutes and my snake didn't even show interest. So I did the dead rat dance, and SOMEHOW he managed to get my fingers instead!!!! I am so glad he is still a baby, it would have hurt! But since then I've been going to the pet store early on wednesdays to pick up a live fuzzy. That is the day they get em in. They are sold out by Friday. Stupid fuzzy hoarders!!!!!!
