    First morph for breeding?
I read somewhere that a Pastel gives the best "bang for you buck" in breeding. Now I am not thinking about money here. I would just like to know which Morph will give a first time breeder the most options if I were to decide to get into this.

I have not had any luck with the search option here so I hope this is not a huge repost.

I would also like to say to you breeding gods that my intent is to learn as much as I can so if I do decide to do this, it will be in the most responsible and respectful way that I can handle it.

    Thanks,
    Geo

From what I've seen here Pastel and Mojave's seem to be the main "ingredient" in some pretty nice morphs. The more experienced people will be able to give you a better answer though.

I agree, I think pastels give you a nice stepping stone for a TON of awesome morphs... mix in a little pastel with anything to brighten it up! :)

Yellow bellies are nice, too... they seem to be a morph that's opening a lot of doors lately.

Pastels are a very nice start IMO endless need for them when you start building your own designers

Cool guys, thanks for the replies. Would any of you know where a list of "outcomes" with breeding Pastels to ??? might be?

With all the awesome pastel combos out there, I think one of the most valuable parts of a breeder's war chest is a pastel female.

If you are serious about making pastel combos, buy a few pastel females now and begin raising them to breeding size. During that time, 2-3 years, you can shop around for the morph males you want since it only takes them about a year (or less) to get to breeding size.

That's just one of many different ways to go about it.

Here's a link to a page that shows some of the combos made with Pastels, but you can add Pastel to any of the other morphs and it will make something cool. Pastels are a great morph to start with. They are very inexpensive, yet they are still one of our favorites to look at. Good luck with your decision. :juggle:
