Oh my god is this normal??

My snake was just chillin out in his tank and he opened his mouth slightly and then looked like he was kind of dry heaving, but he was pooping. It was a little liquidy and it splattered up on the side of the tank. He was making a really weird noise. Then he just went on his way like nothing happened. Should I be worried???

Wow I've never really heard of something like that. But snakes usually dont open their mouths and dry heave for no reason. Personally I would be worried, but I have no idea.

Sounds like gas while defecating...

I hear weird noises a lot around snakey restroom time as well.

my baby ball python did the exact same thing, scared me to death, how is your snake doing now? have you seen him do this more than once?

Mine always have gas when deficating. It gets pretty loud in my snake room about a week after feeding time. It sounds like yours is normal though. Maybe be was just a little constipated and it was difficult to get it out and he had to open his mouth a little to get that little extra push,LOL. Goodluck.

Its normal and happens MORE to females who have laid eggs.

Havnt you ever had a real stickler of a poop that you made a face and probably a noise to get out? Same story with the snake..

Honestly though the first time I heard my snake fart I couldnt believe that something that small could fart that loud so I blamed my girlfriend(she got mad), and then I heard it again when she wasnt around..so I had to apologize for blaming her. LOL.

My Albino didn't open her mouth up but she did plunder the side of her water bowl with poo! That was disgusting to clean:(
