Can you keep leopard geckos in racks?
If so, do you recommend it? I was looking on reptile basics at some racks and a few say you can use them as leopard gecko racks. I don't like having a lot of tanks around and love the rack system for my ball pythons. Since I plan on getting more leopard geckos, would it be a good idea to invest in a lg rack? If so, what size tubs are recommended for full grown leopard geckos. Do you keep more than one to a tub? Any information would be appreciated. :D

(Not to mention, racks take up less space than a ton of glass tanks.)

My daughter keeps her breeders in 27qt. yearlings in 15qrts. I set them up just like the bp's. Rack and heat wise. Works great.

So fully grown breeders in 27qts and yearlings in 15qts. What about hatchlings and lgs that are under a year old? And do you keep more than one lg in a tub or is it good practice to keep them seperate unless breeding. I know that for snakes its one snake to one enclosure.

What about UV light? Don't leos need it? I built a cage style rack when I bred leos, so I could install fluorescents. I know people keep them in racks, but I always wondered about the UV.

Nope, Leos are nocturnal, so UV doesn't provide any benefits to them.

Right, thanks for the info. Now I remember. I only used 2.0 for them, figuring it couldn't hurt. Towards the end I actually did keep them in a rack. My memory is terrible.

i used to keep babies in a 6qt rack. i kept clutchmates together (2 per bin) until they were several months old at which times males were separated.

Do they still need their humid hide while in a rack? Put it on the warm side so it creates a lot of humidity within the hide just like you would with a tank?
