Any of you snake biologists
Just wondering because im studying biology currently? And what do you do...
Re: Any of you snake biologists
whoops i know im in the wrong forum but still ha ha any of you out there?
Re: Any of you snake biologists
Moved this to General Herp for ya.
I'm not a biologist, though. :P
Re: Any of you snake biologists
I, too, am working on a B.A. in Biology at the moment. I intend to use it to get into a zookeeper or ranger position, from which I can apply for grants to start a refuge for exotics and abandoned pets. (Hence the B.A. and not a B.S.)
Not many schools have a focus in zoology anymore, let alone herpetology. I believe you would have to go for a general focus and then specialize with an internship or other range of jobs. However, I'm sure there are things out there just perfect for that field, you just have to look. :)
Re: Any of you snake biologists
I have my B.S in Biology, and we were offered a Herpetology class, but there was no available major for it.
You just have to keep looking around and go to the school that will offer what you want! :D
Re: Any of you snake biologists
Ya im not really looking for anything in particular. Just trying to get some ideas.
Re: Any of you snake biologists
there isnt really "snake bio".. more just herp stuff.. but your not going to be studying that if you are just starting out. im am majoring in animal science to become a vet and hopefully an exotic animal vet someday at a zoo. you study how the process works first then you get specific. when it comes to basic bio animals are pretty much the same.
Re: Any of you snake biologists
I am also studying life sciences with an interest in zoology.
The nursing program looks pretty tempting sometimes though, so i might get derailed.
Re: Any of you snake biologists
actually there is a snake bio. Biology is the study of all living things. And I have read articles of people classifying themselves as snake biologists.
Re: Any of you snake biologists
The Major for Reptile studies is called Herpetology.
There are majors out there in particular colleges that allow you to major in Herpetology.
