    Circket Question
I am going to order from LLL Reptile for my crickets in bulk since I have a water monitor and tegu that gets them off and on. My question is with getting 1000 crickets what do I keep them in? I know the cricket keepers but is there anything else I can use? The cricket keepers say to only keep 150 or so in each one and they are about $15 a peice. I don't mind buying more but just wondering if something else is a better option?

i would use a plastic garbage bin with egg cartons inside to increase surface area.

i use one of these: http://armstrongcricket.com/polyk.htm. i put food and water gel on the bottom and fill it with egg crates and some paper towel rolls. i shake the rolls into a plastic bag with vitamin/calcium dust to dust the crickets with prior to feeding. you could make something similar out of a rubbermaid bin if you cut out most of the top and covered it with screen.

When I used crickets, I just kept them in either a spare 10 gallon tank or a plastic tub with a screen lid, some egg cartons and toilet paper/paper towel rolls and no substrate.

Hope you can handle the stink!
