If you don't use his plans, read through Clay's site. He is one of the best do-it-your-selfers I know of

Re: Homemade rack guides?
Thats where i got my plans for my racks. From clay's site. I built mine pretty much the same as his. Only the last few i made a little frame on the bottom and added wheels to them. Works great. If you do decide to do something like that. Make sure you get at least 1/8 in. space between the tub and the heat tape. Another thing is make sure you get your frames that the pegboard go on the right size. If to big then you will have to come up with some kind of spacers for the rails that the tubs slide on. If to small there will be all kinds of gaps and snakes will get out,and the tubs will stick real bad. Another thing i changed was i added a 1x2 down the center of the back. For a stopper for the tubs. Holds temps and humidity great. Also never had any snakes get out. The first one i made was 8 tubs high. All the ones after that i went to 7 tubs. Here is a pic of the first one i made. Seams like the more i build the better they get. This one isnt the squarest thing ever built but it works.

Re: Homemade rack guides?
Awesome thanks jake/ama. That's exactly what I was looking for. The cb-70 is a very nice design, but a little overkill for me being as I only ahve one BP right now (until i make this rack.. then ill get more).
Thanks a lot for the great info guys :)
Re: Homemade rack guides?
Here is a large rack DIY I did for this site several months ago.

Re: Homemade rack guides?
Well, I was going to post, but you seem to have found and posted my DIY already. I did the CB-70 rack DIY and a couple others, mostly for the people on this site. I hope, even if you don't build that one, that it gave you some insight, or help in some form or fassion in aiding the building of your rack. I too, believe that building a rack is fun, and I have alot of pride in the racks that I built, as well as saving a bit of money that I usually spend on more snakes.
Re: Homemade rack guides?
You already have some great DIY, but I'll throw mine into the mix as well. It calls for expanded PVC, but you can cut costs by using 3/8" plywood if you wanted to.
