    mouthrot?
ok so this bedding i have is not good or i just have to put news paper down when feeding. well, he got another wood chip in his mouth and i guess it was with the fuzzy i fed him and he swallowed it :[
what should i do? he seems fine. and how would i know if it had mouth rot how would i get it to open its mouth? i went to the pet store and they said that there is nothing to get it out now since it already swallowed it, they said it might have trouble going to the bathroom and tomorrow give him once of those warm baths. they also said not to feed it until it goes poop. what do you guys think?

How big of a wood chip are we talking here? I wouldn't be too concerned about him. He should pass it without any problem, don't stop feeding him because of this. Continue to feed normally.

Why are you concerned with mouth rot? Mouthrot is normally caused by improper husbandry conditions for prolonged periods, not by a swallowing a wood chip.

It was a little bit over an inch.

also what i wanted to know,

how would i open the snakes mouth
are you supposed to give them those warm baths? because every time i try to put mine in it just gets out.

You should not feed your snake in its enclosure and this is a real good reason why, especially since it has apparently eaten the wood chips more than once.

If your snake has problems with swallowing wood chips I would suggest changing something to stop it. There are a few ways:

    1) Switch bedding
    2) Feed out of enclosure.
    3) Getting him to eat off of a temporary surface such as a paper towel placed inside the cage during feeding.

Also, pet shop people can be helpful but impaction can be fatal. You should seriously consider taking him to an experienced snake vet.
