    I had been keeping my BCI on EcoEarth in a display-type cage. I decided to switch to newspaper like I use for my BPs, for ease of use, inexpensive-ness, and clianliness. But.. how to get the fibers of EE out? The cage is like a modified aquarium; top is a closed metal sheet with holes punched in. Walls are glass.. sliding doors. Too heavy for me to carry outside and hose out..
    Presto! I brought in our Shop-Vac and within seconds, it sucked out the dust and dirt. Worked like a charm!

    We love the shopvac. It's a lifesaver for when my daughter cleans out her guinea pig enclosure.

    There are even some smaller ones out that would probably be easier to carry around. Ours is big, and it is a lot of work to bring it in.. I think that I saw some for around $20-30 at HDepot last year.. if any of my family members are on here looking for my Xmas gift ideas (not likely lol..!)
