    Shed stuck on head??
    Hi,
Im new to this forum....I recently got a male BP I have corn snakes but this is my first BP. He went blue about 3 weeks ago then went clear about 6 days later I then raised humidity from 55% to 65% then last week he shedded...for some reason he only shedded the mid part of his body down to his tail and it came off in one piece. so i waited another day and he still didnt shed his upper body so i soaked him and let him crawl through a towel that took his shed off from behind his eyes and off the rest of his body.

Now he has shed still from his eyes to his noes its very hard to tell until you look real close i have waited for him to try and get it off himself for about 4 days and soaking him every other day it looks loose now but i dont want to pull it and possibly cause damage to his eyes, but its only loose behind his eyes and not at the tip of his noes. Although he did get it off under his bottom jaw and neck!!

Is there anything else i can do to help him get it off? I heard to wait till he shedded again and it might come off with his next shed is that true? Should I continue to keep his humidity up? And should i keep soaking him?

    Thanks!!

Grab a clean pillowcase and turn it inside out. Get it wet with warm water (I usually soak mine well and then wring it out so it's damp but not dripping). Put your snake in the pillowcase and tie the top closed. Put the case back in the cage and leave him for 30 minutes to an hour. After that time, take him out and see if the shed is still attached. If it is, you can either try to pull it off for him as it will be soft and ready to come off, or put him back in the pillowcase for another 30 minutes.

I've done this with all of my guys that get stuck sheds and it works great. No stress to the snake and most of the time they work off the shed while exploring the pillowcase.

Works on uncooperative children as well.

I also recommend putting some fragrance free hand lotion on the retained areas. It will hold moisture to the area until wiped off. Make sure it's fragrance free, I get it at Whole Foods. That along with soaking(after soaking of course) and a humid hide does it for me everytime. Might take a few repeats but it will work.
