    i took out my bp tonight for a handling and he smelled like fish! anyone know what it is? he didn't musk me, he just generally smelled like seafood, im starting to wonder if "he" is actually a girl lol :carrot:

    also, he's getting pretty big, is it ok to take out one of his hides to free up more room in his cage? he never uses the cold side hide, he just goes and lays on the cool side when he wants too, never goes into the hide

    I'm pretty sure I know exactly what led to that leap, and although I get the joke, I understand how it could be offensive to quite a few people on the site.

    If he is out growing his tank then please do upgrade it to a bigger size. Also you will want to keep both of those hides in there.

    As for the "fish smell"... I agree and thought the same thing that J.R. said above. Not cool, if you meant that way.

    he's in a 40 gal breeder tank, sorry for the crude joke, i have a sick sense of humor, didn't mean to offend

    What kind of substrate do you use? My snake cages will often get a musky smell from their urates, but it's easy to clean with newspaper. If you're using aspen or other wood chips you might not see the urates and will notice a pungent smell.
