i've never smelled an exploded rat before, but it can't be worse than an industrial chicken coop!!! they stink for a mile!

or a f/t rat that your snake decides not to eat but shoves over the heat to bake and puts her hide on top of it so that you don't see it when you check the next morning to make sure it's gone i don't see it (she's one of those that i leave it and she eats it when i turn out the lights). let that sit for a good 48 hours or so and you have a good time!

I would rather feed live, but pet stores near me charge way too much and i'm not really in a position to breed my own at the moment. f/t is my best option right now.

I used to feed live. Now feed frozen thawed. I hated feeding live. I'd just rather avoid any chance of a bite.

Sounds like you warmed it up too fast. What's been your dethawing method?

no i do a slow thaw at room temp, then use a heat pad to go a little warmer. I think i grabbed it wrong with the hemostats.

No, trust me, regurge rat from a sav monitor is much much worse. Our power went out one time at night in the winter and I didn't notice. I had just fed the sav earlier in the day. The smell woke me up, omg it was awful!

I guess that's better than it exploding in its death squeeze or when he bits it.
