    Ringneck snake
I dont know where this thread should go so feel free to move it.

Anyways, we have one of these: http://www.uga.edu/srelherp/snakes/diapun.htm

that lives outside my apartment. He's so teeny tiny and I only see him at night. But he likes to sit in the middle of the sidewalk, wait until you're practically on top of him, THEN try to slither away as fast as he can. My boyfriend has almost stepped on him twice because he didn't see him. I had to jump in front of him and put my arms out in a crossing guard type of way. He thinks I'm an idiot.

Anyway, I just thought it was neat because I've only ever seen pictures of those guys and I thought they were a northern snake, but it says they like wet areas (which I'm definitely in >_<)

Is there anything I can do to help him? I'm so afraid he'll get stepped on and short of putting up signs that say "watch out for snake" which would scare people and do more harm than good, I don't think I can help. Suggestions would be nice, otherwise I'll just keep watching for him and hoping he's ok.

    ^_^
