    I have to tell someone...
I'm so excited! I got my 2nd ball python at the All Ohio Reptile Show this past Saturday. He's a male pastel jungle. Exactly what I wanted!

Anyway, he just hatched on 8/23/07. He had eaten 2 times for the breeder. Both times it was a live hopper mouse.

I'm excited because I have access to rats and wasn't sure if he'd eat them.

    Here's how it went down...

I picked up the appropriately sized rat this evening. When I got home I tried to feed my little guy. He didn't seem interested at all. After about 30 minutes I removed the rat and put it in a critter keeper right next to his tub.

A little after midnight I saw him trying to get out of his tub on the side where the rat was.

I decided to put the rat back into his tub. Things were going pretty well until the rat decided he wanted to hide in one of the hides. I then removed both hides.

This caused the rat to walk around. The snake kept a close eye on it. Then, he did it! He struck and killed the rat. Of course, he wanted to make me panic a little more, so he decided to walk away from the rat.

He finally went back to the rat after a minute or two. Then it took him a few tries before he found the head. Once he found the head it was down the hatch with dinner!

Now I just hope he will switch over to f/t as easily as he did to rats.
