Old illustration of a Komodo Dragon I dug up.
I did this back in 95 or 96 while in art school. This was done in pen and ink using a stipple technique like my recent bearded dragon illustration. I scanned the original pen and ink and layered some brown tones on top of it using photoshop. This is a picture (see camera flash) of a printed copy. Just thought you herpers might appreciate it.

I absolutely love your artwork!! This peice and the one of the beardie both look so life-like!!! Amazing! How long did this one take you to complete?

Thanks a million for all the kind words everyone. This one took much longer than the Beardie did due to it's size. The Bearded Dragon is about 10.5"H X 14"W while the Komodo is bout 3' nose to back. I am not sure how long it took because I worked on it when time permitted for an entire year of school.
JLC,
One dot at a time ;)
Thanks again everyone.

Stipple technique? Sweet baby jesus you are either a masochist or have the patience of Mother Teresa.
Excellent work! Very impressive.

Very cool! Stippling is murder to my senses! I respect you a ton for doing that method.. it is tedious but honestly it is stunning looking.
