I cant decide on the dumerils boa or a hogg island boa?!?!?!?
And a couple Qs on both
What are their Temperements(sp?)?
And which one is the best begginer of the the both?

Hogs tend to be more on the nippy side while Dumerils are usually a bit more shy. A dum will almost always get bigger than a hog island and much heavier. I'd tend to say get a hog if you are aware that it may always be rather nippy and that a bite from a boa the size of a full grown hog will not be pleasent.
I'm a B.c.ssp. guy so I'd personally pick a hog island over a Dumeril anyday
Re: Cant Decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I personally like dum's. Every Hogg I've seen has been a bag full of air *hiss alot* I think the dumerils have a nice pattern, nice temperment and also males tend to stay right around 4-5 feet, although they are quite heavy. Females average around the 6 foot mark. I believe Shelby *could be someone else* has a female dum that is around 7ft and 20+lbs  . Both are nice and good luck with whatever you decide.
Re: Cant Decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I own both of them. Go with a Dumerils Boa. They are a much calmer adult and SHOULD not get any bigger than a Hog, just a little girthier is all. Hogs are fiesty buggers! lol.

Re: Cant Decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ya, I should have mentioned that. Dums just get a lot heavier but females over 6' are not uncommon at all.

Yes I *had* (she died from chronic RIs that just wouldn't stay away) a 7.5' 21lb dumerils.. my male is currently around 4.5-5' and probably 12-15lbs. They're very nice snakes, very attractive, easy keepers (though babies can be finicky eaters) and generally quite docile.
