idk if that's the right price for that kind of retic, but believe it or not but there are some BP morphs that go for that same amount of money, some even more!!! (crazy i know).

Re: 30,000 Dollars
You gotta pay big for other people legwork. Since NERD has spent years developing these snakes breeding, and have finally produced something really cool, they put high prices on it. It's worth it to get the right genetics, since to re-produce that particular genetics, you'd have to put in five years minimum, starting from scratch. And with the Golden Child retics, you won't be able to start from scratch. NERD has them.
You should try seeing one of the Golden Child retics in person if you haven't. Pictures don't do them justice at all.

Re: 30,000 Dollars
They are worth what someone will pay at the end of the day and I can't imagine people spend that much money on a snake except to breed and earn some back.
Still it is crazy to me!

its the buyers choice at the end......if i had 50,000 dollars laying around who knows what kind of snakes i would have.
and i would have to say if you have 50,000 dollars laying around your not going to spend it all on one snake just to reproduce.......what happens if you open the tub and it's belly up
you have to honestly have love for these animals.......and not just think about money.........

That's my point really - a snake is only worth that much money if someone will pay that much for it.
There may be rich collectors who will spend that much (a year's salary or more for most people!) just to add a morph to their collection but I suspect that most people who spend the really big bucks are other breeders. It's an investment for them and is not without risk (the 'belly up' although i bet a 50K snake is insured!). I'm sure they do love the animals but the money enters into it too, they've got to pay the bills at the end of the day - for some people that is the day job as well as the hobby.
