    Herpstat II with USB capability...experience?
Hi everyone, right now I have 4 bps whose temps are all regulated by rheostats and I monitor them meticulously everyday. Right now I use UTH's exclusively. By next summer I'm going to be up to about 8+ bp's. It's definitely thermostat time.

I am familiar with proportional vs on/off, and it seems like there are a lot of pretty equivalently good models out there. Does anyone have experience with the Herpstat II with the USB cable? It sounds like I can hook it up to send me text messages with current temps/temp histories for when I am away for a day or two. This would be absolutely phenomenal if this is true. It would be great to be able to go away for a day or two and have the piece of mind of getting temp readings sent to my phone. Has anyone had success with this function?

Here is the model, herpstat II.

Or do you think I should just go with a more basic proportional thermostat like the Helix DBS-1000 grounded, for example. I am eventually going to want to add the night drop function, so future expandability is essential.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The text message thing sounds great...BUT...you must be a Verizon customer in order to receive those messages.

    It's noted in the manual.
