    Bedding in mouth
I just fed my bp, shes still constricting, and i noticed that she has a piece of bedding in his mouth. It is poking the back of her head and is very noticably sticking out. I was wondering if it was safe for her to swallow or if after she constricts i should remove it?? its repti bark bedding, and its says its safe on the package, but its uncomfortable.

its fallen out now, but im still wondering it its hazardous to swallow smaller pieces? obviously larger ones can and most likely will cause impaction, but do the smalle ones cause digestive problems as well?

I've had bits of aspen ingested with no problem. You can try laying a paper towel over the substrate before feeding, if that will help ease your mind. Considering that they digest teeth and bones, a little extra fiber shouldn't be a big deal.

Swallowing a little bit shouldn't hurt. If its stuck in their mouth and they can't get it out, you can use hemostats to gently grab it and remove it from their mouth. You may have to hold the snake behind the head to get cooperation. And by all means, careful of the tongue!!!!
