snake faeces
Hi all,
hope everyone is in good spirits & health. Basically my qeury is that last night when I came home from work there was one pea-sized piece of faeces. I replaced the repti-carpet and gave viv a quick clean and all was well with the world. Then before I headed to bed a had a quick glance at "charlie" and there were 2 more white-ish faeces but also another of brown colour and it resembled mini dog turd - about 2" long & 1/4" wide. Is this normal ? I've seen it before 2 months ago but as it hasn't happened regularly and I was curious to learn more ! He is a happy healthy snake in so far as I can tell, faeces tested parasite free in the lab at begining of summer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also have moved him to new viv(built using the spec on this forum - kudos to Jen for sticky ) and he appears to be happy out with the extra room to stretch his "legs" !

Re: snake faeces
The solid white waste is urates. It's their solid form of urine. Completely healthy and normal. Typically when you see urates they have peed as well, which you can't really see in on the repti-carpet (unless you see it's wet). You might want to replace the general area where you found the urates.

Re: snake faeces
cheers evanw72 - that makes perfect sense, he only shed last Fri/Sat and the last time I noticed the faeces would have coincided with a shed .. I'm not near my snake diary at the moment but if I get a look at his records this eve then I'll bet a dollar to a dime it correlates ... thanks Evan
Nikki .. I use repti carpet for bedding so I just change out the entire piece and replace with new one. I keep 4/5 carpets spare for any little "accidents". I find them much easier to use than paper towel/wood chip
Thanks folks
