    Breeding possibly this season?
    Hey Everyone,

Congrats on all of the successful clutches! Hopefully I will be able to pair my het albinos this season! I would like to know every breeders opinion.

My het. albino female was hatched aug 05 and is 1,000 grams. This will be her third winter, but she is not 3 yrs yet, so I don't know if that is a problem? I have been reading a bunch of material on this subject, including Adam's(8ball) breeding calendar.

To Adam: You stated in Aug you start your females on a heavier feeding schedule, could you elaborate a little more on this for me? Like exactly what you do? Thanks man

Now in anyones experience, have you been able to successfully get a 1000g female to breedable size from now in time for the season?

    Thanks all,
    Jordan

You might be able to get her to weight by January or February but for me, any snake still at 1000 grams now, I am not counting on for this season (or at least for early in the season). For me (and I believe for Adam), I start feeding the breeder girls an extra prey item each week if they will take it (and if they need it). Hope this helps and I am sure you'll get other opinions as well!

Just curious what you guys would consider "extra" for my girl... Adult female, approx. 1375g right now, and won't touch anything but live mice. She's getting 2 adults per week right now.

My adult females are getting 4-5 adult mice right now(normally they get 3 or so). It equals up to being about 2 small rats I think. If I remember, I'll weigh a mouse next time I feed everyone. Big Cheese Rodents grow some big mice, LoL.

Well that sounds good. I will up her food each week. I plan on breeding her around Feb. so hopefully it will work out.

    Thanks Jamie and everyone else,
