    ID on baby shark
i was browsing my (not so) local- marine fish- shop when i saw this little guy. it was about 5 inches and i had no idea what it was. big surprise- the shop assistants didn't either. so, what do you guys think? i'm 90% sure it's some sort of bamboo shark...

They specialize in marine life and haven't a clue what sort of fish they are selling? I'd take my business and my spending dollar elsewhere.

I am thinking it is a Baby Brown Banded Bamboo (Cat) Shark...I thought white spotted at first but I can only make out the 2 white spots on the dorsal fins.

If I am right it will lose the color banded colors as it gets older and turn a more greyish brown color.

    i'm located in singapore. (:
and the assistant did say it was a marbled catshark, but i know for a fact it's not.
100% sure it's not a brownbanded bamboo shark either, they looks like this straight from the egg:

Maybe not but here is another pic of the brown banded that doesn't show the perfect stripping so I am still not sold that it isn't one.

Also, here in the states the nick name (marketing name) of a brown banded bamboo shark is a banded cat shark. :)

yeah i know, just clearing it up. (:
and that bamboo looks interesting... the only unusual shark i've seen was a pattern morph of leopard sharks known as "scribbles".
someone said it could be a zebra shark, but i think it's too small for that...
