Which spider to choose?

Okay question, is $1800 reasonable for a breedable spider and 6 breedable females? The male alone would be $800. I am thinking that it is, but I just wanted to hear everyone’s opinion. Mind you this is local so I would be able to see the animals before I purchased them. Or I can get a male spider for $600, and ’06 and then I could find other females locally. I don’t think that I would do 6 females if I went with the $600 male, probably 2 or 3 females, again this is a local sale through the herp society out here. Which would be a better deal?

Sounds like a good deal. But then again i would be weary of the health of the animals.

Yea thats about right. Thats a good deal it comes to 166.00 per female so thats a bang up deal if their all females be sure.

So the $1800 spider with 6 females is a better deal then the (I double checked the price and the other is actually $700 not $600 :( ) $700 male and having to find other females.

it really depends on what perspective you're looking at really. If you already have the enclosures for the 7 BP's ready to go, and you want to breed them now (pending if all 6 really are females, and all are healthy), then i would say yes it's a good deal. If you don't want to breed this coming season, and don't have enough set up's ready, I personally would just get the male spider right now and wait it out another season to breed. In the long run, it depends on how many animals you can provide the best care for at one time. Quality > quantity any day of the week.

personally i would take that 1800$, find the most choice male '07 spider you can find- one that really gets you excited.

then, with what is left over pick up some sub adult females that would be ready next year or prehaps yearlings.

that is what i would do. but, i'm very, very picky about the normal females i choose - their pattern is extremely important to me, so i'd rather wait out 3 years with an attractive baby than breed an 'ugly' female.

are all theses females at least 2 years old, or through there third winter, and a good 500g for every foot it is long?

i don't know if i would trust humane society animals with my breeding projects...

They are from a local person here who breeds them, not the humane society. The majority of the females are proven breeders. I would be able to see all of them before I bought them. The spider is also a proven breeder.
