Little update on a rescue...
I can't remember exactly when I rescued this little guy from a bad petstore. He was skinny, he has many missing toes, and a regrown tail. He has turned out to be such a sweet little fella. So here are some before and after pics of him.
The day I brought him home.. several months ago

Here he is today, happy and healthy. Very friendly too.

Awesome... Its always nice to hear about good outcomes when it comes to a rescued animal!!! CHEERS!
and he does have a beauty tail! I want one! BEUT!
Re: Little update on a rescue...
Excellent rehabilitation. The wee guys looking well healthy. Long may he thrive.
Reminds me of the wee Leo i tried to rescue about a year ago. At the start she picked up great, started gaining weight and becoming more inquisitive. But after a while she just took bad and faded away to nothing.
Re: Little update on a rescue...
Thanks, I am really happy how he has turned out. I can't believe how friendly he is. Apparently the people who had him let their kids pull his little tail off and all sorts of stuff. Sad what people will do, and let their offspring get away with. I would reem my kids.
Sorry to hear your rescue died, thats sad. Did you ever figure out what caused her to die? Sounds like crypto, but they usually go pretty fast when they catch that.
Re: Little update on a rescue...
Thanks. Yeah everything was pointing towards crypto but not 100% sure plus there's very little vets that specialize in reptiles in Northern Ireland. Sometimes we have to come to our own conclusions when diagnosing sick or dying reptiles. With a little help from the internet and experienced forum members, of course
Re: Little update on a rescue...
Glad to see the little leo is doing so well, Kristy. That tail looks like a spare head LOL.

you beat me to it!
Re: Little update on a rescue...
I know lol It does look like a spare head. I emailed some pics to my mom to show here how much he'd grown and she said the same thing.
I just looked at my weight record on this guy, he was 4 grams when I brought him home. Yesterday before eating the little tank weighed 35 grams. He is definately a boy too.
I wonder how much of his weight his tail makes up lol.
Re: Little update on a rescue...
He looks really good Kristy! Our first leo was also a pet store rescue, and she's done awesomely as well. I actually think we need to cut back a bit on her food, she's a little chunky monkey!
Good job on the rehabing of this little boy!
