    Some help please?
I am having my new baby delivered this week. He's listed as a pastel, but aren't there more distinctions among pastels, like lemon pastel, and mandarin pastel, etc? How do I know what to accurately call his color? I've had my Bella for several months, and my brothers have raised balls for quite some time, but we've only ever dealt with normals.

Since it appears that you are purchasing the animal from Austrialian Addiction, why not just ask the breeder?

Lemon pastels, Graziani pastels, Bell Pastels, Rupple pastels, VPI pastels, etc. are all different 'lines' of animals. Simply means that different people originally imported the wild caught pastel from Africa and established its genetics in their collection. There is much variation in color even amoung genetic lines but I have never heard of them being labeled anything else due to their color differences...except saying that you either you have a nice pastel or a crappy one.

To be accurate, I would just call it a pastel. Ask the breeder what genetic line it comes from to give yourself a bit more info for your records.

I dropped an email to Justin at AAR last night. It occurred to me to do that about midnight-ish last night. DUH! I don't know why I didn't ask him earlier. But I knew someone on here would be able to explain to me the differences too. Thank you.
