    When you buy them?
When you buy them from the pet store, do they give you the snake in a bag?

When you order them online, and they ship the snake to you, how do they come in?

They put them in one of those cardboard boxes with the air holes.

I have gotten them in deli cups and in cloth bags.

Do they usually have any kind of reaction when you take them out?

I've seen snakes arrive in bags and deli cups, never one of the cardboard boxes, but admittedly, I've never bought from most stores, just the one reptile store.
Some snakes can be defensive and fearful when first taken out. That's why most folks reccomend getting them home and putting them into the enclosure and leaving them alone to settle for a week before handling.
I think it will also depend on what sort of snake it is, the age of the snake and what sort of trip it's had to the new home.

one girl i got was super huffy puffy and tried to put on a show, and then another boy i got was just like "oh . okay".. the adults i got were like "lets run for the hills boys!" i think they were just excited to get out of the bags and stretch out. it was a time trying to close their tubs.

I just don't want to get tagged when I try to pick it up and put it in it's tank. Also, the trip home is not long, since the pet store is right down the street from me. Literally. Basically it's like a minute.

One thing you can do is put the box or bag in the enclosure and leave it there so that the snake can exit the container on his own. Unless of course he decides to make it his hide spot. lol

Do they move fast? I want to get used to holding them. I get jumpy and paranoid. I always think they are about to bite me.

Bought my BP from a store, handled him right before I put him in the cardboard box to bring him home for say, 15 minutes, so he got somewhat used to my smell. Then when he got home, I handled him for a few before putting him into his enclosure.

To be quite honest as the person said, if you're afraid of being tagged, maybe a snake isn't for you. Just to let you know, getting tagged by a BP really doesn't hurt much, no more than a really really tight pinch by a girl with long nails, ESPECIALLY a baby that has barely any teeth. I wouldn't be too worried, but if they do, it's not as bad as you think.
