Racks Out of Metal

Anyone ever built or welded a metal rack?
Is powder coating expensive?
I have looked and with the right tools it would be very easy. I can weld. I really like the looks of the ARS and Freedom Breeder cages.

I can tell you that powder coating is not cheap. I fyou can weld, give it a try, but you probably have to find another way to paint it.
