Question for giant owners

While we are working on resolving the unfortunately tad-too-low humidity for Lourdes our 10' burm, he has a bit of stuck shed under his chin. In fact, his entire lower jaw/mouth/chin has stuck shed (the top of his head and from the neck down is clear).

Two questions:
1. Should I try to soak it off? While I have a "tub" (read ginormous plastic box that has it's own wheesl) that he fits in, it's a bit more vertical than flat and I doubt I'd ever even get his chin wet, let alone would it get the proper soaking required for the stuck bit to come off. And...it's not encircling anything...but...

2. He's seemed to be in a bad mood the past couple of days. Usually he's quite active 3 or 4 days after eating and eager to explore and does not mind handling (part of the reason why we got him). But the past two nights, he's shrunk away from being touched anywhere on his body and just seems generally grumpy. Am I just reading too much into it, leave him be...or could perhaps the stuck shed be making him grumpy?

Put a bit of olive oil on a cotton swab and rub it on the stuck shed and it should peel off in the next or two. Or use tweezers it pull it off gently, but seeing as though he is grumpy right now I would not suggest that. It can make them irritable because that tends to be itchy but may not be the reason.

Just having him sit in your bathtub with 1'' of lukewarm water in it for like 15 minutes will soften it to a point where you can easily peel it yourself. It won't harm him at all.

Lourdes and "sitting" are not two words one would usually put in one sentence, hehe. =)
