(Move this into the caging forum for ya. ;) )

As for which to make....why not both? Start with the first one for a single BP...and while you are keeping him and learning more...work on the rack project for adding more BP's in the future. (If that's your plan. ;) )

i thought you wanted a rack for your next ball pythons? if you build a cage you're gonna have to build as many as you have bp's.

I know.. but I'm just trying to figure out whats right for him.. And also on the "tank" I wouldn't know where to put the flexwatt, can't put it inside because it will burn the snake, but if its outside will there be enough heat go go through?

you'd have to get a radiant heat panel (http://www.pro-products.com/proheat.html). they aren't cheap but work very well. you can put flexwatt in the cage, but you'd have to cover it with something and seal it and it just might be a huge mess.

You have a long time to worry about that. Your snake is still very small and won't be ready for such a big cage for awhile(two years or so).

I would go on www.pro-products.com and look at the heat panels. They mount to the roof of the cage and project heat downwards. They are also safe for the snakes to come into contact with(but they can't get wet I don't think).

How would I go about sealing it?
What if i put a sheet of Plexiglas in the bottom?

You could put a piece of glass over the flexwatt then seal the edges. Or you could put the flexwatt down and cover the floor and flexwatt with a piece of vinyl flooring.
