Healthy or not?
Hey there all. Well, my husband brang home a new snake the other night and he didn't look so good to me, so I went and cleaned his cage, put new mulch in it and fed him. And I gave him a soak in warm water for about an hour or so, because he looked like he was shedding but it won't come off?
Here are a few pics...I'd like to know if this snake looks healthy or not. Because my ball looks very healthy and she roams around her cage all night while this one just sites in his cave..
I'm taking him to see my manager tomorrow because he wants a new snake, but I want to know if this snake is healthy or not though.
Thanks in advance!

what his enclosure looks like right now. very simple and temporary. I don't like this cage tho..it's a frog cage, meaning it's way tall ><

This is him frpm the top of the cage, he doesn't always curl up tight..but he did just eat last night =/

Closer look at him here. his eyes are clear so he still ate..I'm just wondering about his shed though. It hasn't come all off yet..
Btw, the humidity is standing at about 50-65% in that cage right now with a temp of between 80-86 degrees.
Thanks again~

Re: Healthy or not?
Doesnt look to thin, but i can see what you mean about the shed. I cant really tell from a picture but he looks dehydrated so i would bump the humidity up to about 70%, so he can try and slough that shed off, otherwise just make your husbandry is up to par and the next shed cycle should take it right off. Make sure you check out the husbandry care sheets on this site....

Re: Healthy or not?
Okay, so just up the humidity? That's wat I thought but wasn't sure. Thanks alot!
I'll be sure to tell my boss that if he does in fact want to take the snake. =3
His little cave thing is way humid too right now, it's very moist, so maybe that's why he's been staying in there alot. As opposed to my other snake, who is always up and about all over her cage.
Again, thanks <3

Re: Healthy or not?
You keep them seperated right??? Please do. Also those stick on dial thermometers are not very reliable, you might want to invest in something digital, like a temp gun. So that way you know what your temps are really at... But good luck to you and your new friend.

Re: Healthy or not?
I'm not keeping this snake though. lol
I'm getting some digital ones later today if I can find some at a good price. I'll try walmart prolly..
They are seperate, I didn't want to risk putting another snake in Betty's cage.
