Inside hide/outside hide temp variant

I was curious the other day and I put the warm side probe, which usually reads around 90 degrees, inside the hide. The tempature rose to a 107 degrees and I have been since wondering what to do about this.

My question is:

should I lower the temp to 92 degrees inside the hide effectivley changing the oustide temp. to below 92 degrees?

Actually...I just got an idea. I'm going to try moving the hides further way from the area directly above the heat pads. That might even out the temps. However, I'm afraid that my enclosure, a 34 Qt sterelite, may be too small for me to do this. So, in the meantime, does anyone have any other suggestions?

I use aspen
two plant pot bottoms as hides
two heat pads on homemade reohstats
The snake is aprox. 2'

Yes, since the snake probably spends most of his time inside the hides, that is where you should measure the temps from. Strive for a temperature of around 92 degrees inside the warm side hide.
