Besides no brown what else to look for in a pastel?
Im getting one among others in around 2 weeks. I keep looking and looking and looking. Daytona was great to be able to see all the different pastels. So many looked like crap and they were real young. I just want a nice pastel i can breed with a spider. What do i need to look for (or links are also helpful) to get the best for my money?

Nice high contrast of yellow and black. For me its patterns and blushing.

What do you mean by "looked like crap?" Many people have different opinions on a Pastel; some go for blushing, others for bright yellow.
I would guess that if you want bright; get a Lemon from Nerd. I personally go for a Graziani with lots of blushing.

What i meant by that is a lot had no more yellow than a normal. It didn't impress me. If i am to fork out that much money i want something nice and bright. I have seen that lemons do look the brightest. But i've heard Graziani keep their color better. But in the end if someone has two lemon pastels or two grazianis and they breed them it doesn't mean they are going to get all beautiful pastels, right? I know don't get something with brown. But when they are as young as i want to get them, don't they change a ton in a few months. What else to look for, or is that about it? Get the one with the colors you like the most. For me that is yellow against black.

It is a tough call.. they can either brown out or retain their yellow. If you have a certain look in mind, maybe you should buy a subadult rather than a smaller hatchling. This is what I did; I bought my '05 male in '06 when he was already over a year old and he has stayed similar to how he looked then. :)

I was thinking that. Im going to wait to see what they have in person. Talk for awhile and decide then. Since im going to be buying some 06 het albinos a spider a het albino red tail boa and a female pastel. I think, wait i know they will give me a great deal. Either way im just excited to go from having only two normal males (which i love) to all this. Oh and i just picked up some het pieds from the daytona show. I have a few things to play around with in next three years. If i end up with a few clutches and at least a few hatch out even if they are normal ill be incredibly happy that i had a succesful hatch. But im more than confident in that amount of time ill be a seasoned expert on what to do when breeding, and with all the possiblities i have i should get a decent amount. Wish me luck, ha!!!!!!!!!
