Becky recommends the Wellness Senior for dogfood. I had a bunch of the Iams large breed kibble left over and used it w/o any problems. I've since purchased the Iams senior in the little ankle-biter size bites. I've since found a source for the Wellness Senior and will be putting THAT into the Becky mix instead.

As for the Regal Rat...my rats wasted most all of it. That's why most here will recommend not using it, but making Becky's mix instead, or feeding the mazuri brand type blocks only. Mazuri are nutritionally complete and with Becky's mix, you shouldn't need anything else. I also feed some food scraps, depending on what I have.

For my does who are nursing huge litters (smallest litter has been 12) I feed the does and the weanlings the Iams kitten food for the higher protein and calories, along with some soy milk occas.

When Peekaboo was sick, I mixed A/D food w/soy milk and let her drink the milk free-choice in a water bottle. She looooved the thinned-down peanut butter or bread soaked in olive oil.
