I know a couple people that have used it and it was all right. But you need to be very careful about where you place it and how you place it. The snake can get tangled up in the rope and die.


Also, as with any heat source, you really need to have it connected to a thermostat or rheostat.

That would probably be your best route. Are you planning on sticking to the inside of the cage or outside? If you put it on the inside, please make sure you use some sort of reptile safe adhesive... and make sure that it's going to stay for a long, long time (through being covered by substrate, etc)! If it would come off, the snake could get stuck in it, or, again, tangled in the wire.

I use it and I really like it. It does get very hot, so it has to be on some type of regulator. and I would not put it on the inside. I have mine running through a rack, and it's under each tub.

Yes if it is regulated to the proper temp you can use it on tubs, and NO corns do not have the same temp requirements as BPs. Corns need 85 hot side and 75 or so cool side. Their viv should not go above 88 degrees max.

My Animal Plastics rack uses heat rope, it's threaded through a groove in each shelf and controlled with a Herpstat thermostat.
