    Very Active?
hey guys, i had a quick question. I have had my ball for sometime now and i pretty much got this snake parenting thing down but even parents get concerned.

I really dont see much of my BP, aside from feeding, tank cleaning and the occasional handling but the last 2 days she has been crazy active around her cage. Exploring every inch of it or just staring out through the glass or trying to get out through the top. I have never really seen her do this before. I mean she comes out every now and then at night for a drink but shes been alot more active. Any ides of why she could be doing this... or does she just want to explore her setup after a year of being in it haha

    thanks

I moved her to the opposite side of the same room... if that makes any sense? shes in the same room and the setup is the same.... I know if i move to a new room that she would be exploring the new scents but i didnt think she would be this active if i moved her to a different location in the same room, in a fairly small room at that.

How is your temps and humidity?

Could be due to low humidity or low temps. When I 1st got my BP she was very active and trying to get out so I asked the same question as you and I was told could be due to her humidity level or her temps.

    What are your temps at?

My female has been moving around for nearly three days straight, and I just fed her this afternoon, and she still hasn't stopped moving. Some snakes just like to move around a lot, my male, hes almost as lazy as I am, but will occasionally come out at night. I used to be concerned too that she was out so much, but she has her hides, temps and humidity is good, so I'm not at all worried she is always out and about. And she eats anything I throw at her.

On the same note, I had no idea snakes were so clumsy...watching her fall all over her cage cause she forgets to hold on to anything is funny as hell.

Something has her tweaked. If they are constantly active, something is a stressor, and yes, it could be the move, particularly if he's been in the other spot for long.

Kashmire did that to me (incidentally, he was in a tank, none of tub kids get over-active - normal night time slow meandering cruising, but not pushing at lidds), I filled his enclosure with loosely crumpled newspaper, and it helped to settle him. I slowly "weaned" him off if, removing a piece every few days.

I thought about doing that, if she didn't already have a hidding place as a tank, I honestly think she thinks she is a GTP. After she is done cruising the hood, instead of going in her cool hide, or her warm hide, she will perch up on her tree:

Normally I would agree that them being active is an indication something is wrong, but her, she just likes to be on the move. Don't see any reason to panic just cause your snake is active and different then everyone else'.
