Laying on her side ? wth ?
My Ball Python roxy was laying on her side today for about 5 minutes,Noting TOO dramatic, just laying slightly to the left (eh, right?) this is the first time ive seen her do this......when females are gravid dont they do this ?
That cant be a reason because she has not been bred (or around any males whatso ever) so im pretty clueless, what could this be, ill let you know if i see her do it again.....
Re: Laying on her side ? wth ?
females tend to lay like this ( male too ) and all they are doing is getting comfy.... its a sign of being gravid but not a sure thing because they are just laying around

She's just getting comfy ... completely normal for a larger female ball python ... especially if they've eaten recently.

Re: Laying on her side ? wth ?
Well, thats good too know, at first i thought she was trying to cool off due to being too hot, but her temps were just fine.
I thought i knew more about ball python breeding but then i thought "hey, maybe they do this when coming into sexual maturity??" haha i guess i was wrong......she is getting pretty big though....maybe next year !?
Re: Laying on her side ? wth ?
Did she recently take a large-ish meal down? I think that they do this when digesting sometimes; similar to whe they are gravid, it is a time when their midsection has some extra weight/girth..
Kinda like how my jeans don't want to button up after I eat a huge turkey dinner.. :)
Re: Laying on her side ? wth ?
My big girl does this from time to time after she has eaten.
Re: Laying on her side ? wth ?
Some of mine do this after they had a meal.
