Caring for an injured Ball

Hi all,

Alright here's the gist, I am in the practice of caring for injured and snakes in general who have been abused and/or neglected by previous owners. I work on a voluntary basis through my local shelter and boy do we have an interestingly horriffic case that seems to have fixed itself.

A Ball Python was given up and we were told the day before "Hera" got her lower jaw stuck on duct tape. She persisted in wrapping her jaw around in circles twisting her mouth horribly around the tape. We removed the duct tape when she was brought to us carefully. Only a few minor scale injuries occurred. While her scales and mouth look completely stretched, after a few "yawns" she got her jaw back together.

Our X-ray tech is not in again until Monday and I was wondering a few things. Since she realigned her jaw, and there only seems to be a little stretched, no swelling, no bleeding, mouth fits perfect, should we be overly concerned. As I always concerned I cannot help to panic over my new found friends horrible treatment. Seriously how's she get close to duct tape :(


She is behaving "normal" laying around, no agitation when being picked up...

Any feedback?

Sounds like she's ok... I would avoid feeding her for a while, other than that, I don't know what to tell you..

Also, Neosporin(NOT with pain reliever!) can be put onto the scale injuries.
