    GladWare for water bowls?
Has anyone used them? opinions? They're convenient, come in many sizes so controlling humidity will be easier, and are easily cleaned by throwing them in the dishwasher...

Really lightweight bowls are liable to be tipped over anytime the snake slithers across the lip of it. Some folks will use them though, and place them inside a heavier ceramic bowl if you can find one the right size...or use disposable deli cups placed inside a PVC coupler. Keeps the weightless bowls from tipping, as well as allows for easy-peasy cleaning.

Well...I used gladware-type plastic stuff for Auryn's water bowl for about a week, then I switched to ceramic. Auryn knocked over the plastic Glad Ware water bowl every night for a couple days and I got real tired of cleaning his tub every morning! Ceramic is heavy and your BP won't be able to knock it over--I've been MUCH happier after the switch ;)

I am aware of the tipping issue, believe me. I've got one little girl that I think intentionally spills her bowl. I've got a heavy ceramic ramekin in there right now, and if I don't tape/velcro it down it'll be tipped over every morning. I'll be using either the PVC couplers velcro'd to the sides or velco'ing one of the bowls down and placing a second bowl with the water inside that...

I use 16oz deli cups inside a 4inch PVC coupling. I have only had 1 get tipped over in the past year.

Here's my solution. It's from IKEA and is only 25¢. Cheap, easy to clean, and if one gets cracked or something no big deal because they're so cheap (though I've used these for over a year and they've held up very well i.e. I still have the original ones I bought). I have twice as many of these as I do cages so that when a bowl is dirty or soiled I can simply just swap them out right away. Also, I've never had one tip.

And for smaller snakes (hatchling bps, colubrids, etc) it doubles as a hide. They also make a larger one in blue that's 75¢. But these are the perfect size to fit in racks and for bps.

You can see how for smaller snakes they double as a hide.

Where in Ikea did you find them? I'd like to pick some up, but every time I go in there looking for something specific I never find it...

Are they in the kitchen section etc? Whenever I've found pet stuff there it's been in a random bin somewhere!

In my IKEA they're in the pet section which is right after the picture frames and across from the plants on the down stairs level.
