day 58

ok, i'm now on day 58... a couple of the eggs are gettin a little
mold on them:confused: , should i be worried?

sorry its a little dark, tried to lighten it up a bit for ya'll.

Nah, you're little ones will be out in the next couple of days. Shouldn't be a problem (unless you see it start to obviously spread). I'm not sure what you can do at that point, but for the most part bad eggs just shrivel up and the rest are ok.

not sure if you should do this at this point but foot powder works wonders with killing the mold...i just dont know with the possibility of them hatching any day now if it would affect the babies or not. maybe Adam or someone who has delt with this will be able to tell you more

well i'm into day 62 with these lil cusses and still no signs of pipping.

so this morning i took them from the mother and slit the eggs
(hope i didnt screw up doing so)

was able to see the babys in a couple of the eggs where i slit them and seem them move (very exciting).

the others i am not able to see in them, but the fluid that leeked out was clear and didnt have a foul oder to it so (fingers are still crossed here)

i now have the eggs down in a makeshift incubator till they deside to join the world (thank goodness i'm not going to need my cooler for a while).

How are they doing today?

i took a look see in on them this morning seen them squirmin around in the egg a bit but still are not even offering to poke their little heads out.

i just know they will wait till some time this week while i am at work to deside to come out:rolleyes: just so i will miss it.

starting to think they are ploting aginst me on this entire thing:eek:

They will come out. :D
They just wanted some TLC from you. :D hehehe

It seems to me that they are going good form what you described. :) I slit on day 60, and like you described, the clear liquid did come out a bit. No foul odor.. sounds good.
They are absorbing the rest of their yolk now. If you were to yank them out (not that I would or that you would!) you'd see probably a marble-sized potion of yolk attached to their belly button. Once they are ready to come out, all o most of this will be gone, leaving a little hole where the navel is, that will seal up.
They should start by poking their heads out, and at this time they might recoil back in if you disturb them too much. It took my first popper a good couple of days between having his head out and removing himself from the egg. I slit one to start, and the day after, the first pipper had self-pipped, then went back in as if to say :oh, no one else is here yet, I must be early!"
