City girl get used to country livin
I absolutely love my new house and all my cool new neighbors! So far we've seen a couple lizards (that are too fast to catch pics of), frogs, a box turtle, and these beauties...

After a bit of consulting, I believe they are a pair of red shoulder hawks. I usually see or hear them at least every other day. They're such beautiful birds. I can actually see stars at night too!
I just had to share! :D

It's amazing how much you miss when you live in the city. When I moved back out to the country, I was shocked. The thing is the shock was short lived, I miss the city life again :(
Re: City girl get used to country livin
I'm never in one place for very long, so I just have to enjoy the advantages of each place for the time I'm there. (even if I feel a bit like a fish out of water)
Here's a pic of the frog that was taking a dip in our pool.

And here a chew toy.... I mean turtle my dog found. (Fortunately for the turtle I watch my dogs pretty closely - although apparently not close enough)

Wow what beautiful animals! I love country living.. the city is fun to visit, but I wouldn't want to live in one.

Re: City girl get used to country livin
Geesh Christie hurry up and get an old wreck of a car up on blocks in the yard! You need to start fitting in down there honey. :P
Re: City girl get used to country livin
Wow, those hawks are just amazing. I have always been fascinated by raptors.
Re: City girl get used to country livin
Beautiful pictures, Christie!! I'm envious of your new home out in the country!!
Re: City girl get used to country livin
That's great that you have a place in the country.
I'm a country girl trying to get used to the city, lived in one as a kid and I still hate it. Would trade this nice house in the city for a cardboard box in the country any day. Kelly says no way. I guess I am a city girl for a while.:(
Re: City girl get used to country livin
The Tri-city, Mid-Michigan area is really the country with a city about 15-30 minutes away. So I get a feel for both worlds pretty readily, and it's nice. ;)
