Re: A BCI's strike speed?
I assume you are using a proper feeding instrument like long tweezers, hemostats or tongs?

Re: A BCI's strike speed?
ya they can strike pretty fast. I don't know exactly how fast but. It startles me everytime.
Re: A BCI's strike speed?
faster then a speeding bullet, stronger then a locomotive!!
Watch out or you will discover the meaning of finger food heh heh
Re: A BCI's strike speed?
i fed my 3.5' BCI a adult mouse and he hit it so hard it tore the tail off...
it was pretty sweet...
Re: A BCI's strike speed?
I have just a baby, but i feed it fuzzies by hand, and it snatches them right out of my hand, this last time was so fast i couldn't of even responded by being scarred or anything, it was just like *BOOM!* gone...
I've only done it twice, i'll be getting some tongs for it next time...WHAT A RUSH!
Re: A BCI's strike speed?
Tongs are a very, VERY good idea. Getting nailed by a striking boa of any age isn't fun for you nor is it good for your boas mouth. It may well needlessly lose a few teeth in your hand and startle it enough to put if off feeding. We've also noted with our boas that although they are not as sensitive as a ball python, any major incident during feeding can cause them to startle and react poorly by refusing to continue that feeding.
